Recently, a colleague told me (Dan Gillmor) he'd learned of a company that was planning to sell a location-tracking chip designed to be implanted into human beings. He said he'd put one in his newborn daughter.

I was appalled, as he expected. He suggested we write a point/counterpoint pair of essays on this subject. Here's how they came out:
