Stolen TJX Data Used in $8M Scheme Before Breach Discovery: "Information stolen from the systems of massive retailer TJX was being used fraudulently in November 2006 in an $8 million gift card scheme, one month before TJX officials said they learned of the breach, according to Florida law enforcement officials.

(Via eWEEK Security.)

Editor: Well I that this one one time the company will have a hard time claiming that the stolen data "hasn't to their knowledge been misused".
